A Cellular Approach to Feeling Better

Every day, millions of cells in your body are talking to each other. They’re working hard—coordinating thousands of miraculous processes that keep your heart beating, your brain functioning, and your body running the way it was designed to. And every bite of food you take either supports those cells… or disrupts them.

For too long, traditional medicine has focused on managing symptoms—often with pharmaceuticals or surgery. But there’s a growing number of practitioners and researchers calling attention to the power of food to either heal or harm the body at its most fundamental level.

And yet, in the same online scroll, you’ll read one article saying a certain food is harmful, and another calling it a superfood. That’s the challenge with the business of food—it’s not just about health, it’s also about marketing, influence, and money.

Take for example a study I recently came across—highlighted by Dr. Mark Hyman—that claimed butter was bad and refined seed oils were healthier. But a closer look revealed it was based on decades-old surveys, poorly structured methodology, and (surprise!) it was funded by organizations with a vested interest in selling seed oils.

Most of us don’t have the time—or training—to analyze every study that comes out. So, it becomes a matter of trust. Which sources feel aligned with truth? And even more importantly: Does this make sense?

Does this make sense for my body?

How did nature intend for us to eat and fuel our bodies?

One of the most powerful tools I recommend is a structured elimination diet or reset program—something we do in The Power of Food. You remove many of the common culprits that can trigger inflammation, hidden sensitivities, and sluggish cellular health. Then, little by little, you reintroduce foods—one at a time—and observe how your body feels.

It’s simple, but not always easy. Still, it’s the most direct way to figure out which foods are working for your body and which are working against it.

There are some foods I always recommend steering clear of—across the board. Sugar is the big one. Highly processed foods with ingredients you can’t pronounce are another. And for many, reducing exposure to high-toxin foods like conventional grains and certain pesticide-heavy produce makes a noticeable difference.

I still love the quote from Michael Pollan: “Eat food, not too much, mostly plants.”

We just wrapped up the second round of The Power of Food Reset, and once again, the results blew me away. People reported less back pain, more energy, weight loss, reduced bloating—and most importantly, a renewed awareness around how food made them feel.

The biggest shift wasn’t just physical—it was mindset. People started tuning in to what they were eating, why they were eating it, and how it made them feel after. That’s the real power of food.

Yes, it can be hard to stay consistent. Our world is set up to keep us addicted to sugar, salt, and fat. But once you feel what it’s like to be clear, energized, and pain-free, it changes everything.

You start to choose foods that help your body—not because someone told you to, but because you’ve felt the difference for yourself.

Eat Food, not too much, mostly plants.
